Madonna to be the new face of Pringles
EXCLUSIVE: Princess of Pop Madonna has been unveiled today as the new face of Pringles crisps.
The veteran songmeister's latest image makeover is part of a five-year deal to promote the product, replacing the existing logo Percy Pringle III, who is to retire next month after more than 12 years of service.
Madonna: New Pringles Girl
A spokesperson for the former material girl, 50 next month, said that she was 'apprehensive about having to grow a big moustache' but 'particularly looking forward to increasing consumer awareness of the new Spicy Salsa flavour'.
She is believed to have already started work on a promotional jingle, based on her smash-hit Save a Prayer, to promote the low-fat Pringles range, while a short film, co-produced by husband Sean Penn, is also in the offering.
Tits
Madonna has been looking for ways to revive her fading superstardom which reached it's peak in the early 1990s, during what musical experts describe as the 'pointy tits' phase of her career.
And this deal guarantees her a presence on every TV screen and supermarket shelf in the country, excluding Wales and Northern Ireland.
It is not uncommon for musicians to arrange sponsorship contracts with the manufacturers of reconstituted potato snacks, but today's deal is clearly the largest of it's kind since Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch signed a £5 million promotional deal with Riley's Crisps back in the mid-60's.
